Yui Mizuno, born June 20, 1999, in Kanagawa, occupies a singular place in BABYMETAL's history. Not only because she was part of the original trio, but because her presence became forever associated with one of the project's most powerful and irreplaceable images: the perfect symmetry between her and Moa orbiting around SU-METAL. Yui's relationship with music carried a particularly emotional dimension. During her childhood she found inspiration in Karen Girl's, the group where Suzuka Nakamoto had sung years earlier. The fact that fate eventually led her to share the stage with Suzuka adds an almost circular dimension to her story. As a member of Sakura Gakuin, Yui shared several formative spaces with Moa, including sub-units like Mini-Pati and Twinklestars. That closeness shaped a chemistry that would later become decisive for BABYMETAL. Onstage, YUIMETAL conveyed a very particular blend of delicacy, precision, and mystery. Her physical expressiveness and her ability to merge exactly into the group's visual symmetry were key to making the original trio so unforgettable. Alongside Moa, she also formed Black BABYMETAL, a kind of sub-unit within BABYMETAL. There, the two of them could explore a more playful, even more mischievous side, without the epic weight that rested on SU-METAL. Yui's importance cannot be measured only through her vocal parts or her dance precision. Her presence had a quality that helped stabilize the entire original imagery of BABYMETAL. She was part of the visual balance and the emotional atmosphere of the founding lineup. Her departure in 2018, following prolonged health problems, was one of the most delicate moments in the group's history. Yui became an almost legendary figure within BABYMETAL: not as someone replaceable, but as a presence that still inhabits the project's emotional memory. To speak of BABYMETAL without giving her the place she deserves would be to mutilate the story.
